Compass Rose Marks 10 Years With Launch of Dedicated Campaigns & Creative and Communications Practices
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Ottawa, ON - January 28, 2026
Compass Rose is marking its 10th anniversary by launching two new practice areas—Campaigns & Creative and Communications—reflecting the growing role of strategic and digital communications in public policy and politics.
Over the past decade, the firm has advised clients across sectors on government relations, regulatory strategy, and communications. As the communications environment has become more complex, driven by heightened media literacy and digital engagement, Compass Rose has expanded its capabilities, building a specialized team designed to meet clients in the moments that matter.
“The communications landscape has changed fundamentally. Influence today is shaped across interconnected public, political, and digital channels, in environments that are more fragmented and competitive than ever for Canadian business,” said Marci Surkes, Managing Director and Chief Strategy Officer at Compass Rose. “Strengthening our communications and creative practices ensures our clients lead with clarity, credibility, and impact. Michael Edwards and Kristina Davis bring the strategic leadership and creative strength needed to cut through complexity and algorithms, mobilize audiences, and deliver meaningful results.”
Michael Edwards, the Campaigns & Creative practice lead, is a digital strategist and award-winning designer known for his leadership in digital public affairs and strategic communications. He founded Adrenaline Digital, Canada’s first agency dedicated to digital advocacy and CSR campaigns and has since led digital practices at some of the country’s top public affairs firms, supporting major corporations, non-profits and national associations.
Kristina Davis, who leads the communications practice, brings more than 20 years of experience driving growth through strategic communications and marketing, with deep expertise in defence, security and technology. She is known for helping organizations, including some of Canada’s largest defence companies, clarify their purpose, strengthen trust, and translate complex issues into compelling narratives that deliver measurable results. Davis has led brand and communications strategies that support growth, stakeholder confidence, and executive decision-making, particularly in highly regulated and high-stakes environments.
Rounding out the communications team are Jessica Eritou and Tina Romito.
Eritou is a digital communications and public relations expert who advises executives on media visibility, positioning, and public presence. With six years of experience as a senior ministerial staffer and press secretary, she helped inform Canadians on major public policy issues, including housing, childcare, workforce supports, and the economy. Known for strong strategic judgment and visual storytelling, she helps clients align message, timing, and platform to build influence and credibility.
Romito brings nearly two decades of experience helping Canadians understand politics and the national issues shaping the country. An award-winning journalist and former senior television producer with CTV News, she covered Parliament Hill, general elections, national emergencies, and complex legislation, and led editorial content and operations. She now applies this experience to help clients translate complex issues into clear, compelling narratives that support informed engagement.
The launch of these teams builds on Compass Rose’s 10-year track record of trusted advice and reflects a broader shift in how influence is built and maintained. As the firm enters its second decade, the expanded communications and creative practices underscore its commitment to promoting an uncommon, common good and to advancing communications that strengthen institutions, elevate public trust, and drive meaningful change.
