The opportunity to develop a sophisticated understanding of client/account management, procurement advocacy, and the intersection of public relations and government relations.
The priorities for this role include:
Assisting client leads and Public Affairs Counsellors in delivering superior client service through meticulous organizational support, meeting and program tracking.
Acting as a communication hub by ensuring meeting outcomes and next steps are clearly documented and shared via Slack to maintain team momentum.
Optimizing time and efficiency by managing complex calendars and internal/client meetings with a strategic eye for scheduling flow.
You will be responsible for:
Managing deadlines and deliverables, developing workback schedules and tracking activity in the project management software for each client in the Digital Government and Procurement Practice.
Scheduling and coordinating all internal and client meetings effectively, capturing detailed meeting minutes and sharing next steps, including timelines/deadlines for completion.
Supporting client leads and Public Affairs Counsellors on project milestones and overall project health to ensure effective account management.
Drafting background notes, research documents and reports for clients from varying technology backgrounds and across the public sector.
Developing invoice summaries in an outcomes-based fashion so that it underpins the ability to demonstrate value, progress and forward motion.
Tracking upcoming events of interest to clients for attendance or sponsorship.
Working with Compass Rose’s exemplary monitoring team to ensure that client priorities are captured or flagged, and appropriate actions are recommended to the client.
Staying abreast of the Canadian political environment and digital government and procurement trends/plans/priorities, and applying Compass Rose best practices to your work to ensure top quality insights are delivered.
Representing and supporting the company and supporting at networking events and client functions.
Skills and experience:
Required:
Diploma or degree in political science, public affairs, public administration or a related discipline.
Strong administrative experience, preferably in a fast-paced business environment.
Excellent writing, research and editing skills.
Deep attention to detail, specifically in formatting, proofreading, and data entry.
Highly organized with the ability to manage competing priorities and pivot quickly in a deadline-driven environment.
Assets:
Proficiency in Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, experience with CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot)
Bilingualism (English and French) is preferred, but French is not required.
Salary range: $50,000-$60,000 CAD
In-person presence is a requirement, three(3) times a week at our office in Ottawa’s historical ByWard Market.
